I’ve a friend in my situation,
She can’t get past the ‘why’
It’s hard to see her trying to keep her head above water,
I wish I could help her float.
In her eyes l’m doing better,
Actually I’m just doing different,
Coping my way.
Questioning is a stage of grief for some,
The ‘if only’s, can pull you under,
Looking for impossible answers,
Trying to change the past narrative,
Looking for a different end to the story.
But the book is now published,
And can’t be edited,
However hard you try,
It’s just too late.
Then the blame,
The villain of the peace,
The antagonist
Of negative outcomes.
An easy target
But not always responsible.
Tough read,
Complicated plot
Grief, the unexpected narrative
That changes direction
With powerful twists.
Just when you think you know what’s going on.
